Senior meetings and dates coming up!

Hello SHS Seniors and Families, 
I hope you've all settled into your 4th and final year with us and are looking forward to lots of senior year excitement on the way! For your information, school counselors will be visiting senior Advisories over the next couple of weeks to do some small group information sessions about the post-secondary planning process. Additionally, seniors are welcome to make an individual appointment with their school counselor by stopping in to our office and booking a time with them for a "Senior Meeting". These meetings typically take about a half hour and we prefer to do them during lab time, if possible. 

In our meetings, we will be sharing this College Guide Resource with students, which you may find helpful to review at home, too. 

Please mark your calendars to attend our Career and College Fair on Oct 8th, which will include a special senior and parent presentation about the college application process at 5:30pm in our Performing Arts Center (PAC). We have over 50 colleges, training programs and employers who have RSVP'ed to the fair and hope to be able to add a few more, as well! We will send a list of expected representatives as the evening gets closer. 

We will also host a Financial Aid information Night on October 22nd at 6:00pm in the PAC. This will be presented in partnership with our colleagues at Granite Edvance and will include crucial information about applying for financial aid for college. More information about the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is available at https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa. This year's seniors will need to fill out the FAFSA form for the 2027-2028 school year, which is not yet available, but will open up in the coming weeks.
